It's another great year for the Wild West Veterinary Conference. We are so glad you can experience it with us.
Take a minute to appreciate the quality educational choices the Scientific Program Committee has arranged for us
and don't forget to check out the fun array of extra events available.
There is something for everyone; veterinarians, technicians, management and your family too. Over 500 excellent
educational hours in lectures and labs delivered by top notch speakers. The Veterinary Technician program continues
this year with the third and fourth cores added to complete the four stage core program. If you cannot make every
session you want to attend, try the syllabus on flash drive and the "NEW" Live Learning Center web site.
Check out the various creative and fun activities. The over 21 crowd can be edified by a wine tasting class or be
creative in the martini contest held at the resort. If you want to enjoy the great outdoors, try kayaking on the Truckee
River, hop on the Comstock tour or join us on our annual fun run / walk on Friday morning. Plan to participate each
night in our special gatherings made possible by the generous support of our sponsors. A big thank you goes out to our
sponsors!
"Encourage a little magic in your veterinary practice." We are excited about the keynote session Wednesday evening,
"Leadership Excellence," presented by the Disney Institute. You will be inspired and energized by this presentation so
be sure to mark it on your schedule. All conference registrants are welcome and encouraged to attend.
There's so many changes that have taken place at the Grande Sierra Resort and are planned for the conference.
You will have to see for yourself - new restaurants, remodeled rooms and meeting rooms; a whole new look and feel.
Help us in our effort to "Go Green" by using the available recycle bins and thanking our "green" sponsor MWI as you
notice other green changes around the conference. It is only the beginning, so we hope to improve and grow the green
program each year.
On behalf of the board of directors and the WWVC member states, I wish you great fun participating in our conference
while receiving your top quality educational experience.
